The AMA Motocross series visited Wortham, Texas today with two tight championship races coming down to the wire. In the Motocross class, Yamaha's Grant Langston took the overall victory with 2/1 moto scores, ahead of KTM's Mike Alessi (3/2) and Honda's Andrew Short (1/5).
In the Lites division, defending champ Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) had a perfect day for the overall win (1/1). Yamaha's Brock Hepler finished second (3/3), while Ben Townley (Kawasaki) finished third (6/2). Going into the final round at Glen Helen, Langston has a eight point lead in the Motocross series over Andrew Short, while Ryan Villopoto pulls a 19 point lead over teammate Ben Townley in the Lites division.
