Energy drinks love AMA Supercross racing. When Monster Energy went from team sponsorship to sponsorship of the entire "Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship", Red Bull apparently had to respond.
It is rare for any company to be described as the "primary sponsor" of any Honda factory race team. The Honda AMA motocross team (which combines supercross and outdoor motocross) describes Red Bull Energy Drink precisely this way.
It wasn't long ago that major outdoor sponsors shied away from AMA Supercross racing. Red Bull has always been involved with motorcycle racing, but its "primary sponsorship" of the Honda factory motocross team here in the United States takes Red Bull's U.S. interest to a new level.
