James Stewart (Kawasaki) won the opening round of the AMA Supercross series this evening in Anaheim, California. Finishing second was defending champ Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki), with Chad Reed (Yamaha) third. Reed gutted out a painful shoulder injury and rode an impressive race.
In the Western region Lites division, Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) dominated the main event, winning over Christophe Pourcel (Kawasaki). Third was Jason Lawrence (Yamaha).
