Big Changes Expected From KTM in 2003

By Dirck Edge

All of the Japanese manufacturers have announced their 2003 motocross bikes (with the exception of Yamaha, which will finish announcing its bikes tomorrow). From KTM, we have heard no official word on the 2003 models, but plenty of rumors.

Expect the 400 four-stroke to become a 450 (in SX, EXC and MXC guise). Expect a limited production run of 200SX models (200cc motor in 125SX chassis).

Of course, we have already told you that KTM will be debuting an entirely redesigned 250 two-stroke motocross machine -- one that Grant Langston has been testing (as well as Ryan Hughes). Other rumors include a possible displacement increase for the 520 four-stroke (will it become a 540?).

Stay tuned, because we expect KTM to reveal its 2003 line-up soon.
