MXLarge.com Report: Everts May Race U.S. Nationals

By Dirck Edge

All those motocross fans out there who have dreamed that Stefan Everts and Ricky Carmichael might someday compete against each other in a championship series may find their dream come true in 2006. After taking pole position for this weekend's MX1 Grand Prix of South Africa, Stefan Everts told MXLarge.com that he is in contract talks with his employer, Yamaha, and he may race the U.S. AMA National Motocross series in 2006.

Everts is an eight-time World champion and, along with Carmichael (a twelve-time AMA champion), considered one of the best Outdoor motocross racers in history. Everts is currently leading the 2005 MX1 championship series.
