Triumph Introduces Rocket III to U.S. Dealers

By Dirck Edge

With photographs floating all over the Internet from the dealer meeting this past Sunday, the cat is out of the bag for Triumph's new Rocket III mega-cruiser. The 2300cc triple had been rumored, and even photographed, for several months before Triumph displayed the bike to its dealers on Sunday, August 17 in San Antonio, Texas.

Details regarding the production machine, its availability date and list price, are all unavailable at this time. Here are some photos to whet your appetite, however.

As the photographs indicate, the traditional cruiser seat height and forward controls are combined with a liquid-cooled engine, modern disc brakes (including twin discs up front), shaft drive and huge tires wrapped around cast aluminum wheels.
