American Motocrosser Ryan Hughes Receives Wrist Surgery in Munich

Reports from Europe indicate that American Motocrosser Ryan Hughes, competing aboard a factory Honda for the Pamo team in the World 250 Grand Prix Motocross Championship, received surgery on his injured wrist yesterday in Munich, Germany. “Ryno” (as he is known by fans and friends) has had nothing but bad luck since the start of the World championships. In the first round, Hughes’ mechanic failed to get his bike to the staging area on time for the first moto, and Hughes was prevented from entering the moto. He won the second moto that day. While practicing for the second round last weekend, Hughes injured his wrist and was unable to compete.

Hughes was one of the favorites going into this year’s championship series, having finished fourth in last year’s championship series aboard a privateer Honda considered uncompetitive with the full factory bikes. No word yet on when Hughes is expected to return to action.
