Triumph has already held its U.S. dealers’ meeting, and disclosed to its U.S. dealers the 2001 model range. What are the highlights?
The new Bonneville 800, already widely discussed in the Internet press, will be priced at an unbelievably low $6,995. Dealers are clammering for allotment of the Bonneville — expecting the bike to quickly sell out.
Other highlights? The Tiger gets the 955cc motor this year, and the TT600 has had the throttle response problems addressed in two ways, including, new cams and new fuel injection mapping. Other than that, the bikes are largely unchanged, except for new paint and graphics.
Where is the new Daytona? At this point, it looks like the new Daytona may be a 2002 model — perhaps, introduced next Spring.
