Carmichael (250) and Fonseca (125) Win Salt Lake Supercross

Ricky Carmichael (Kawasaki) kept his winning streak alive in Salt Lake City, Utah last night, winning his twelfth straight 250cc main event (thirteenth of the year). The first half of the race saw a close battle between Carmichael, Tim Ferry (Yamaha), Kevin Windham (Suzuki) and Jeremy McGrath (Yamaha). Windham and McGrath eventually faded, but Ferry finished second ahead of Mike LaRocco (Honda).

Ernesto Fonseca won the final 125cc West Coast main event of the year, and takes the championship for Yamaha. Second place in the race went to Ivan Tedesco (Honda), with Justin Buckelew (Yamaha) third.

The final 250cc main event of the year, and the 125cc East/West shootout, is next weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
