The latest word is Honda’s Ricky Carmichael will race next Saturday night in San Diego at Round Two of the AMA Supercross series despite his horrendous crash in Anaheim last weekend.
According to a Honda representative, and several reports on the Internet, Carmichael was banged up pretty well, but has no broken bones. Despite a problem with headaches shortly after the race, Carmichael has been cleared to ride by his doctors in Florida.
As a precaution, Carmichael spent the night at an Anaheim hospital before returning to Florida on Sunday. Carmichael knows he must start gathering points if he is to defend his supercross crown, but he reportedly will not practice until the day of the event in order to have additional time to recover from his crash.
