Carmichael (250) and Stewart (125) Win Red Bud Motocross

Honda’s Ricky Carmichael remains perfect (12 for 12 motos) this year with his victory today at the Red Bud AMA Outdoor National Motocross race. Carmichael won with a comfortable margin in each moto. Finishing second overall (5/2) on the day was teammate Nathan Ramsey on the four-stroke Honda 450. Finishing third was Kawasaki’s Ezra Lusk (3/4).

Kawasaki’s James Stewart took the overall in the 125 class with 2/1 moto scores after first race winner Chad Reed (Yamaha) stalled his bike early in the second moto. Reed was unable to start his bike for quite some time, and ended up dead last when he finally got it restarted — ultimately, he finished in 22nd position, losing valuable points to Stewart in the championship race. Finishing second on the day was Suzuki’s Branden Jesseman (6/2), with Larry Ward (Yamaha) finishing third (7/3).
