A wild supercross main event in Dallas this evening resulted in Yamaha’s Chad Reed taking his second victory in the series, while closing the gap to AMA Supercross series points leader Ricky Carmichael, who finished in sixth position after a heavy crash during the race. Finishing second was Kawasaki’s James Stewart, who also crashed during the main event. Rounding out the podium was Nick Wey (Honda).
Carmichael has a narrow, two-point lead over Reed in the AMA Supercross championship series with just two rounds remaining.
In the Western Region Supercross Lites main event, Ryan Villapoto (Kawasaki) took his first professional supercross victory ahead of second-place Andrew Short (Honda), while Grant Langston (Kawasaki) finished third.
