Seattle Supercross Results

Heavy rain this afternoon meant that tonight’s AMA Supercross race in Seattle was mired in mud, and the struggle between the racers and the challenging track meant the race ended with some incredible results.

In the Supercross Lites class, it was Kawasaki’s Grant Langston who came away with the win, making him the 2006 Lites West champion. Second place went to Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) and Jason Lawrence (Suzuki) was third.

James Stewart (Kawasaki) and Chad Reed (Yamaha) jumped to the front of the pack at the start of the Supercross class main event, while points leader Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) got a bad start and had to battle his way through heavy traffic in the deep mud. Stewart ran away from Reed to win by over 12 seconds, while Carmichael made an incredible charge to finish third – 36 seconds behind Reed.

Carmichael and Reed are now tied for the AMA Supercross points lead going into the final round at Las Vegas next weekend, with Stewart only 5 points behind. For additional details, results and points, visit the official World Supercross GP site here.
