Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) won another MotoGP race today, as his bike set-up continues to improve throughout this series. Rossi’s victory came after a red flag and a restart of the race. This resulted from a horrendous first corner crash that took several top riders out (including both factory Ducati riders). After the restart, Rossi battled with Nicky Hayden (Honda), with Rossi coming out on top, and Hayden in second. Kenny Roberts Jr. (Team Roberts) took third — the first podium finish for his father’s team.
Hayden stretches his points lead in the championship over Loris Capirossi (who did not race following the first corner crash and restart). For additional details, results and points, visit the official MotoGP site here.
