The World Superbike Championship hit Imola, Italy today for a two-race event. In Race One, Honda’s Alex Barros crossed the line in first, followed by James Toseland (Honda), and then Andrew Pitt (Yamaha). Ducati’s Troy Bayliss finished in fifth place to secure the second WSB Championship of his career.
Bayliss celebrated his championship by putting his Ducati atop the podium in Race Two, with Barros just behind in second. Suzuki’s Yukio Kagayama rounded out the podium in third.
