The AMA Supercross series visited the Reliant Stadium in Houston tonight, and James Stewart (Kawasaki) continued to show incredible speed as he took the lead early in the Supercross class main event and pulled away to finish more than 17 seconds ahead of second-place Chad Reed (Yamaha). Coming in behind Reed to round out the podium was veteran racer Timmy Ferry, also on a Kawasaki.
In the Lites class, Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) fended off a challenge from Jason Lawrence (Yamaha) to take his fifth win of the season, with Lawrence hanging on to take second and Josh Grant (Honda) in third.
Stewart stretched his lead in the Supercross class points standings, now holding 147 points to Chad Reed’s 126. In the Lites class points standings, Villopoto leads Lawrence 147 points to 113.
