A wild supercross main event this evening in St. Louis saw Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) take the win over James Stewart (Kawasaki) in second and Chad Reed (Yamaha) in third. Stewart and Reed collided at the beginning of the main event with both going down, and Stewart having to ride through the pack to catch the leaders. Stewart eventually passed Reed to take the second position.
In the Supercross Lites Eastern Region main event, Ben Townley (Kawasaki) won his first AMA Supercross ever ahead of Ryan Morais (Yamaha) in second and Matt Goerke (Yamaha) in third. Townley survived an early battle with teammate Darcy Lange and last week’s winner Ryan Dungey (Suzuki). Both Dungey and Lange crashed their way off the podium.
Stewart continues to lead the AMA Supercross series championship points race, while Morais and Goerke share the points lead in the Easter Region Supercross Lites championship series. For additional details, results and points, visit the official World Supercross GP site here.
