James Stewart (Kawasaki) came out on top of a race-long battle with Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) at tonight’s AMA Supercross in Orlando, finishing just under a second ahead of Carmichael. Carmichael was competing for the final time in a Supercross main event. Third place went to Chad Reed (Yamaha), a further 18 seconds adrift.
Yamaha’s Branden Jesseman turned in an impressive performance to win the Lites class main event, leading for more than half the race and crossing the line more than two seconds ahead of second-place Ryan Morais (Yamaha). Third place went to Darcy Lange (Kawasaki).
Stewart continues to build his lead in the championship points race, now holding 260 points to Chad Reed’s 231. In the East Coast Lites championship race, Morais holds a slight lead with 78 points to Lange’s 72.
