Triumph’s big triple currently displaces 1050cc, but is based on a smaller engine designed in the 1990s. It is a fine motor, but could use some updating.
According to a rumor in Europe, the British marque is thoroughly redesigning its big triple — in part because it anticipates an 1100cc triple will be allowed to compete in WSB under future rule changes.
Expect the new engine to appear in the next couple of model years in the Speed Triple, Tiger, and Sprint ST, as well as a sports bike.
