New Buell XB9SX Black for Euro Market

All right, that’s it. I’m now calling this recession a depression. At this weekend’s London Motorcycle Show Harley-Davidson/Buell took another swipe at the low-price motorcycle market, showing both its new Sportster 883 Iron and a blacked-out version of the Buell XB9SX CityX.

The Black is identical to the 2008 XB9SX CityX other than glossy-black bodywork on the “tank” (actually an airbox lid; fuel is stored in the aluminum twin-spar frame), flyscreen and fender. Additionally, the frame, wheels and engine cases are blacked-out to maximize the sinister look. The new model is priced 295 UK Pounds (about $420) less than the translucent-bodywork model that is priced at $8895 here in the States. Right now, the Black won’t be available in the USA, but perhaps that will change if Buell dealers demand the bike at the upcoming dealer meeting, usually held in July. Call your local Buell dealer and let him know you want one; maybe that’ll sway the collective mind of Buell.
