Andrew Short Becomes Newest Member of Rockstar Energy Fast Lap Competition with Quick Time at High Point

MORGANTOWN, W.V. (June 17, 2010) – After three weekends of racing, three different riders have laid down the fastest lap of the second 450 Class moto to become participants in the Rockstar Energy Fast Lap competition. Last weekend at the Rockstar Energy High Point National Presented by Centra Bank, Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short became the third rider to post a hot lap this season.

As Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey took his second straight victory at round three of the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, it was Short who took advantage of a great start to lay down the quickest time of the moto at 2:20.949 and open up a multiple-second lead over his competitors. In the end, the Texas native finished second to Dungey in the moto and secured the runner-up spot in the overall standings for his best finish of the season.

Nine bonus points remain over the next nine rounds and so far no one has managed to get the edge in the standings. Short joins Jagermeister KTM’s Mike Alessi and Dungey, who posted the fastest laps at Hangtown and Freestone, respectively.
