We have already directed you to the Kawasaki-Challenge website where information is periodically being provided concerning the 2011 ZX-10R production sportbike. Today, Kawasaki provided this photo of the carbon fiber covered test mule it will have on track at Suzuka over the next two days. Presumably, the body shape is the same as the production bike that will go on sale sometime next year as a 2011 model, but the test mule could be in WSB spec (the Brembo brakes, for instance).
Various publications claim to have information about production specs, including weight and power. We don’t know where they got this information, but the consensus seems to be that it will weigh less than 440lbs wet, and will produce at least 190 crank horsepower, both substantial improvements over the current model (more than 45lbs lighter, for instance).
If you want to check the 2011 ZX-10R website periodically, expect Kawasaki to provide additional updates soon. You can also take a look at the article we wrote on June 21 covering some of our additional thoughts on the 2011 production machine.
