If you are refering to the engine-as-a-stressed-member-chassis as a innovation then, it was innovative when Norton did it more than 50 years ago.

It looks bulky but I like the front....but still the same basic 600 design from 07.....and the same basically for the 1000 too from 08.... Why can't any of the big 4 show any true innovation? Look at what the Italians are up to. Freaking Ducati probably made the worlds most beautiful motorcycle, Panigale.
