French publication Moto Journal has good naturedly posted a video to YouTube featuring test rider “Lolo” on the new 2013 Yamaha FJR1300. Even motorcycle journalists can have a bad day at the office, and Lolo certainly did when he plotted with his photographer/videographer to film a poetic scene at the marina.
The video is below, and we hope Lolo had nothing hurt, other than his pride (although it looks like quite a fall). Just remember how wide those saddlebags make your FJR.

And people wonder why most places won’t offer a test ride…….

Maybe next he will not ride on the sidewalk.

If you go slow, you can see that he came off the bike and fell into the cockpit of the boat, neatly missing both the rail and the boom. The bike crashed on a floating dock behind the boat. All in all, a good show — bike is likely totaled, but little or no damage to the rider or the boat. And we can all send the link to our friends while advising them not to be drinking anything while they watch…

50% FJR cover today with a high chance of it raining Frenchmen.

I think he misunderstood the purpose of the anti-dive settings on the front end.

I wonder how expensive gelcoat repairs are in France? That boat got damaged for sure.

Honest, somebody backed into it in the parking lot and it tipped over.

If it was a R1200 GS it would have landed on two wheels and kept going.

Maybe he is trying to tell us, it’s a boat @ low speed…

Who pays for the screw up? Can Motojounalists destroy bikes and just walk away (hopefully)and hop on the next machine and go for a ride? I do feel sorry for the poor chap that took the nose dive, though. That’s a horrible thing to experience.
BTW- the camera man did an excellent job of following the subject over the drop off. Most amateurs would have been so freaked out that the camera would have been anywhere but on the subject.

I’ve never understood why journalists often seem to test bikes in blue jeans, and this guy had an open faced helmet, which probably didn’t help there even if the jeans probably didn’t hurt. For god’s sake ATTGAT.
Hey MD, how about changing your Captcha to something readable, like numbers that are legible?

That video has been flying around the net. I questioned the first time i saw it why someone would be videoing right there. Guess cause it was planned. Guess some of it wasn’t planned though ha ha
