Monster Energy Supercross Notes Package – Angel Stadium, Anaheim

450SX Class Stats: Anaheim

►The first race was held on December 4, 1976, and Marty Smith won on a Honda

►This race marks the 63rd time the gate will drop for an 450SX Class race in Anaheim

►Since 1974, Anaheim has hosted a Monster Energy Supercross race every year with the exception of ’74, ’75 ’80, ’88, ’97, and ’98

►With a win this weekend, Honda can tie Yamaha on the all-time win list in Anaheim

►At this race last year, Dungey earned the 12th 450SX Class win of his career. He is tied with David Bailey and Ezra Lusk on the all-time 450SX Class win list. It was Dungey’s first win in Anaheim since January 23, 2010

►Dungey has won races in four consecutive seasons, can he make it five this weekend?

►Dungey and Ken Roczen gave KTM their first-ever 250SX and 450SX Class sweep last year at this race

►All three of Villopoto’s titles came after being the first man to win twice. Both of Stewarts, both of Reed’s Dungey’s, and the last three of Carmichael’s. The first four of McGrath’s titles came that way.

►However, in the last 11 years (2003-2013), the first man to win two races has won the championship EVERY time.

►Ryan Villopoto earned his 36th career 450SX Class victory in Oakland; he now has 15 consecutive top five finishes

►Villopoto is also the only rider to be in the top five for every race this season

►With his 53rd podium in Oakland, Villopoto passed Rick Johnson on the all-time podium list

►James Stewart earned his 70th career podium and is sixth on the all-time podium list
