Crutchlow Fastest During Friday Practice for Silverstone MotoGP

Friday practice for Sunday’s Silverstone MotoGP race ended with Cal Crutchlow (Honda) recording the fastest lap … just of ahead of Yamaha teammates Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales.

Points leader Marc Marquez (Honda) ended the day fifth quickest after crashing twice (unhurt). You can find full FP2 results here.

Completed only 13 laps. “Marc Marquez book-ended his session by crashing his Repsol Honda at the start and again at the end”.

Im out of town on a bike trip so I’m going to miss this one. Made my wife promise to watch it and take notes so I can catch up when I get home. Told her it was Crutchlows home race so he would be pushing extra hard and smiling less than usual lol

An aprilia on 4th… and a KTM on 7th… nice

Steady improvement and both under the Espargaro bro’s. Both put a bike in the top-10 last week. I can’t remember the last time Suzuki did, though they appear to be closer this week.

Uncanny, the way Marquez can crash and crash and crash, and never get hurt. He’s been doing this his entire MotoGP career.

Besides his sheer speed and maniacal will to win, his ability to push to the limit, cross that limit and crash, and hop right back on without having to pay any physical toll has been one of the main keys to his success. Other people miss races and even large chunks of the season when they crash and suffer broken bones. Rubber Boy Marquez? It just never happens.

that was part of his deal with the devil he made years ago

True but most of his crashes are lowsides where he is already sliding knee and elbow. Not much of a fall if you don’t run into something or get hit.

lest we forget so did Ross. his “crash-ability” beggared belief until it all caught up with him at Mugello.

as it did for Doohan, Fogarty, etc and so it will likely go for Murguez. but that’s not this weekend so for now, ONWARD UPWARD Spider Boy to the 2017 title. 🙂

Marc don’t fear the reaper, but karma is a bitch, and she will be paid.
