Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) brought Casey Stoner's win streak to an end today at Laguna Seca after Stoner crashed with roughly eight laps remaining in the race. Stoner (Ducati) and Rossi had been dicing for the lead when Stoner went off the track in turn 11 and his bike tipped over. Stoner remounted to finish second with Suzuki's Chris Vermeulen finishing third.
