Turkish MotoGP Results

By Dirck Edge

When Bridgestone has the better tire, Bridgestone has the better tire. That was the story today at the Turkish MotoGP event. Bridgestone absolutely dominated the day. How dominant? When did you last hear of Valentino Rossi running near the front early in a MotoGP, but slowly fading to finish in 10th place? Probably, never. Rossi, unfortunately was on Michelin tires today, and was essentially non-competitive for that reason on this track.

Oh, and the race winner? That would be young Casey Stoner. The Ducati phenom chalks up his second victory of this short season, and takes the series points lead away from Rossi in the process. Finishing second today was Toni Elias (Honda), with Loris Capirossi (Ducati) third. Nicky Hayden (Honda) finished back in seventh, but he can be consoled by the fact that he was the fastest rider on Michelins today.
