Motegi MotoGP Results

By Dirck Edge

The MotoGP event at Motegi, Japan earlier today involved varying track conditions, starting out wet and slowly drying throughout the race, that resulted in bad luck for a number of the top contenders. In the end, this worked to Casey Stoner's advantage, as the Ducati rider was able to clinch his first MotoGP World championship with a sixth place finish today, while Yamaha's Valentino Rossi finished all the way back in 13th.

Stoner's Ducati teammate Loris Capirossi won the race, with Randy de Puniet (Kawasaki) finishing second, and Toni Elias (Honda) finishing third.
