Haga and McCoy Bring Some Star Power Back to WSB

Haga and McCoy Bring Some Star Power Back to WSB

By Dirck Edge

Just when it looked like World Superbike might fade from view, Garry McCoy and Noriyuki Haga are ready to contest the WSB championship aboard Ducati 999s beginning this weekend at Valencia. Although WSB will again be dominated by Ducatis (in terms of the number of bikes on the grid), all of the new 1000cc superbikes will be represented, including Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha (in addition to the Suzuki GSX-R1000).

Indeed, one of the more interesting WSB efforts will come from Ten Kate Honda and its CBR1000RR. You may recall that Ten Kate made a name for itself in supersport with its superb tuning of the Honda CBR600RR. With Chris Vermeulen aboard, the Ten Kate entry should be watched closely.

Of course, other well known superbike riders will participate in WSB this year, including Pierfrancesco Chili, Troy Corser, Chris Walker, James Toseland and Regis Laconi.
