2008 Honda Transalp Revealed in Europe

2008 Honda Transalp Revealed in Europe

By Dirck Edge

It is already Friday morning in Paris, and some European journalists are treating their Honda embargo as expired. These are official photos of the 2008 Transalp 700 (which will actually displace 680cc), which represents a significant redesign of an important European model.

We do not have many details at this point, but it appears that the new Transalp will feature a 52 degree v-twin (with a total of eight valves -- four per cylinder) based on the Honda Deauville model. The new model will meet Euro 3 emission standards, of course. This bike is unlikely to be available in the U.S. anytime soon.
