At the Imola round of the WSB championship earlier today, Ducati's Noriyuki Haga re-took the championship points lead from Ben Spies by winning Race 1 and finishing second in Race 2. Spies struggled to finish fourth and fifth on the day. Filling out the podium in Race 1 were Max Biaggi (Aprilia) in second place, and Michel Fabrizio (Ducati) in third. Race 2 saw Fabrizio take the win ahead of teammate Haga with WSB rookie Marco Simoncelli (Aprilia) finding his way onto the podium.
Haga has a slim 3-point lead over Spies in the championship with two rounds remaining. For additional details, results and points, visit the official WSB site here.
