KTM rally racer and three-time Dakar rally winner Richard Sainct died today from injuries suffered in a crash while competing in a rally in Egypt. MD sends our condolences to Richard's family. The following press release is from KTM:
29/09/2004 - KTM regrets to announce the death of 3 times Rally Dakar Winner Richard Sainct.
Richard crashed to his death today while competing in the “Rallye des Pharaons” in Egypt.
Medical services attended the scene of Richard´s accident promptly but were unable to save him.
KTM will now withdraw all factory riders from the rest of the Rally in respect of Richard´s memory.
Our thoughts are with Richard´s family and children.
