Odd. The results look so strange, and a bit slow. I figured that it must have been raining. So I checked yesterday’s weather. It rained in the morning. But it was mostly sunny and 63F (17C) by noon. Was it really windy or something?

The results all year have been strange. I can’t help but feel that something nefarious is being done to the electronics packages.

Nothing nefarious just a lack of dry track time to perfect their setups. Q1 was only semi dry and Q2 still had a few wet patches.

Yeah what Curly said. And once you see the race results you won’t think slow anymore including a new race lap record. I was impressed with such little dry track time over the weekend.

They usually have that kind of stuff on the bottom of the race results PDF. I had to look at the website. What is listed there is a bit odd. They list Fabio’s best race lap as 01’40.2780. They credit Rins with the all time lap record at 01’39.4500 last year. But they then point out that the best race lap, also done last year, was done by Bagnaia with a 01’38.7250.

Seems to me that Bagnaia has the all time lap record and that the bikes were faster overall last year. People did comment about the conditions being less than ideal.

I watched a highlight video from NBC last week to check out the Suzukis. They kept flashing a 500GP graphic between cuts. I was seriously offended. That’ll never happen again.

        • Jeremy says:

We’ll, that is odd, because Fabio was able to pull 139’s at will. His 139.435 is the the current Race Lap Record. The previous record was Alex Rins who set the best race lap last year at 139.450. Bagnaia still holds the All Time Lap Record set during qualifying last year at 138.725.
