Ecosse Heretic Combines Chopper Cool with Racer Function

Produced in very limited numbers by Colorado-based boutique manufacturer Ecosse Moto, the Heretic (pictured above) is an interesting combination of the custom cool and artsy detailing found on high-end choppers, with the top-quality parts and focus on performance of a racing-inspired sportbike.

The Heretic offers an array of options and trim levels (ranging in price from $49,800 to $140,000+), allowing customers to specify a machine with everything they need, and nothing they don’t. The minimalist frame highlights (in chromoly, or titanium on the top-of-the-line model) the massive V-Twin engine (capacities from 1640cc to 1966cc are offered, some with machined-from-billet blocks, a la MotoGP prototypes), and the details are just as impressive, with nearly every component large and small designed and manufactured in-house using precision CNC-machining processes.

While I doubt many of our readers are ready to throw down this kind of cash to get one of the 100 Heretics Ecosse plans to produce, the Heretic is interesting both because of it’s beauty and as an example of what could be done with a no-holds-barred, clean-sheet, high-budget approach to designing a modern street bike.
