European media sources are reporting that newly minted MotoGP champ Nicky Hayden will miss the current round of testing at Jerez to have surgery on his collarbone.
Apparently, a plate which was inserted to stabilize Nicky’s collarbone after a 2004 supermoto crash was dislodged when he was taken down by Dani Pedrosa at Estoril. Yes, that means Hayden rode the season finale at Valencia (and won the championship with a third-place finish) with a broken collarbone.
Hayden will reportedly be out of action until January.
