Jorge Martin and Aprilia dominated the MotoGP race weekend at Le Mans. This culminated in Aprilia taking every podium spot on Sunday.
Starting from the third row, Jorge Martin (Aprilia) had an amazing start to Saturday’s Sprint race, taking the first position after the second turn. From there, Martin rode to victory ahead of second place Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) and third place Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia).
On Sunday, Bezzecchi took the holeshot and led the entire race until he was passed by his teammate Martin with just a few laps remaining. Behind Martin and Bezzecchi, a third Aprilia ridden by Ai Ogura finished third.
On Saturday, during the Sprint race, Marc Marquez (Ducati) had a vicious high-side crash. He broke a bone in his foot during the process, and then announced he would take the opportunity to remove a screw from his right shoulder. We understand Marquez had surgery on both his foot and shoulder this morning with good results. Marquez missed Sunday’s Le Mans race and will miss at least one more round as he recovers from these surgeries.
Only one point separates the Aprilia factory teammates at the top of the championship leaderboard. Bezzecchi has the edge over Martin heading into the next round at Catalunya next weekend.

I wonder if Martin remembers all the winging he did about not winning enough while he was out with injuries. I thought that was the craziest thing ever. You can’t win races if you don’t suit up and race them. Makes me all dope slappy.
Ducati didn’t seem to learn that the longer Marquez was with Honda the worse their bike got. They have picked up the pacw quite a bit since he left. Now the Ducati riders just think their bikes are fast…just before they crash. The Olympics should make a new dive for the divers called the Marquez at Le Mans. Did you see the slow mo on that baby? All the beautiful twisting and flipping that bike did? I’d hate to me the poor sod tasked with fixing that back up. It probably bent the frame, swingarm and forks. Nasty.
