Three-time World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty of England has reportedly been offered a huge sum of money to leave Ducati and join the Suzuki Alstare team next year. Fogarty has a massive points lead in this years WSB series and, barring disaster, he should achieve his fourth world championship.
Considered the best funded team in the WSB paddock (with a long list of sponsors that includes Corona Beer), Suzuki Alstare has dramatically improved its GSXR750 superbike-which Pier Francisco Chili has put on the podium more than once in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, Fogarty loves the Ducati, and he has never won the WSB Championship on another brand of motorcycle. His last effort, on a Honda RC45 in 1996, resulted in a fourth place finish.
