Motorcycle jumper Seth Enslow was badly injured last Wednesday while practicing
for a 300-foot record-breaking jump planned for later that day. According to those
who witnessed the jump, which happened at freestyle jumper Mike Cinqmars’ Southern
California home, Seth badly overcleared the 180′ leap and landed on flat ground approximately
245′ from the takeoff ramp.
The bike, a CR250-framed CR500 built by Service Honda in Illinois, bottomed out on impact; when
the frame hit the ground Seth’s head slammed down into the handlebars. His injuries resulted from his
head striking his clutch perch, which went into the gap in his motocross helmet. Seth was reportedly conscious
and talking but was Medflighted out with serious head injuries including a crushed orbital socket and
a broken skull (in two places).
