Racing dirt bikes with slicks on tight road courses (with a little dirt thrown in) is exciting for the fans and the riders, alike. It combines skills from roadracing, dirt track and motocross. The race bikes are relatively cheap to purchase and maintain, as well.
In Europe, races are held both indoors and outdoors, and the number of fans is quite large — riders make a living racing Supermotard in Europe.
