Since Supermotard racing is all the rage in the world of motorcycling, we decided to print a press release we received today regarding a race on September 7 and 8 in Elkhart Lake, Wisconson featuring some famous and talented riders, such as Scott Russell, Mark Miller, David Sadowski, and even our buddy Mike Metzger. You know how we feel about Supermotard racing — it is going to be huge in the United States (it is already huge in Europe). Here’s the info.
SuperBikers2, LLC is proud to announce the Return of the Superbikers race on September 7&8. The final race of the SuperBikers2 season will prove to be the most anticipated race of the year and will cement the return of the action-packed racing that was so popular in its early stages. A round of racing that will draw some of the AMA road-racing’s finest, will go head-to-head with top MX racers, as well as local heroes. The First Annual Return of the Superbikers will be held at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex on September 7-8 is a course located at the famed Road America road-course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin; truly some of the most exciting racing action yet!!
With factory teams such as Cannondale, Vertemati, Corona Suzuki, Yamaha France, HMC Racing, as well as top name riders from the US, England, Italy, and France, this should quickly prove to be a fan-favorite.
Scott Russell, Mike Smith, Mark Miller, David Sadowski, Gerald Delipine, Jérôme Giraudo, and Mike Metzger are some of the riders that will take on this challenging track with fast sweeping turns, tight hairpins, off-chamber corners, a dirt section with TT jumps and a whoop section, and lots of elevation changes.
Competition classes will include the full-sized supermotard bikes, mini-motard bikes and 2 different quad classes. Also included will be the first “East vs. West” showdown in the Mid-West Supermotard Challenge. The best riders from the different racing regions will meet in the rolling hills of Wisconsin to battle for the top spot in US supermotard racing.
