A rider that can consistently run with, and occasionally beat, Ricky Carmichael outdoors is something special. There is only one rider, currently, that can do this. It is Kevin Windham.
Windham has been quoted lately indicating he is talking to more than one team regarding a ride next year. A ride that will include not only the outdoor series, but supercross as well. Call it the Windham sweepstakes, but any team would be happy to have a rider who can beat Ricky Carmichael outdoors. Trust me.
Where will he end up? On a 250cc two-stroke or a 450cc four-stroke? We will have to wait and see, but one thing is for sure. Kevin Windham has injected new excitement in the 250cc class, both supercross and outdoors. A possible four-way battle for the 250cc supercross championship next year, between Carmichael, Reed, Windham and Bubba Stewart, would be phenomenal.
