Metal Mulisha frontman Brian Deegan was badly injured during Saturday’s Moto-X Best Trick Prelims at the ESPN Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. Deegan came out in his first run and attempted his signature Mulisha Twist (backflip 360), but was forced to ditch the bike and fell approximately 45 feet to an icy landing. Early reports say Deegan sustained a broken femur and fractures to both wrists, and is likely to undergo surgery at a Colorado hospital.
In other Moto news from Winter X, Mike Metzger topped the preliminary points standings with a backflip nac-nac he calls “icing on the cake”. The smooth style of Nate Adams took second, with the Mulisha still represented by Dayne Kinnaird and Jeremy Stenberg in third and fifth, respectively. Caleb Wyatt holds the fourth spot following the preliminary rounds. The finals have been postponed due to weather conditions and should happen later this afternoon or tomorrow.
