These are pictures of the 2004 Ducati MotoGP machine. It has been completely redesigned, with more than 60% of the 915 individual components entirely new.
As you probably know, Ducati had tremendous success as a rookie in the MotoGP series last year (including a victory, and several podium finishes), and, understandably, expects to contend for the title in 2004 with riders Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss. These images of the 2004 Desmosedici MotoGP machine were released by Ducati today, in conjunction with the announcement of their 2004 factory squad. There is something very clean, and focused, about Ducati’s approach to racing, and a history of success, particularly, in World Superbike, is a testament to the effectiveness of their approach. With Valentino Rossi at Yamaha, and Ducati continuing to push forward, there should be plenty of competition for Honda in the 2004 MotoGP series.
