The oldest, most experienced, and arguably most talented Gobert is coming back to AMA road racing next year, according to a press release from Erion Racing. Anthony Gobert will race a Honda CBR1000RR in the AMA Superstock class alongside his youngest brother Alex (middle brother Aaron is also an AMA road racer).
Now 28 years old, Anthony Gobert has raced, and beaten, some of the greatest riders in the modern era, including at the World Superbike level and AMA Superbike level. His battles with Nicky Hayden a couple of years ago (while riding an underpowered Yamaha R7) were spectacular. Anthony has never taken a big championship since leaving Australia, however, and has had his problems with race team management and sponsors over the years. We wish him the best of luck and hope he can showcase his tremendous talent with the Erion Racing team in 2004.
