Watch Chris Vermeulen

What is it about road racer Chris Vermeulen that makes you think he will be a World MotoGP star some day? A tall order, but definitely on his list of things to accomplish before he is through.

The 21 year old Vermeulen is the 2003 World Supersport champion . . . taking that title aboard a Ten Kate Honda. This year, he is again aboard a Ten Kate Honda, but this time a CBR1000RR superbike contesting the World superbike championship. In six races thus far, he has two podiums (two second place finishes) on the all-new machine.

He currently lies fourth in the 2004 WSB championship series, with plenty of races to come.

When you get a chance, watch Vermeulen ride a motorcycle. He is learning fast, and has moved from the Supersport class to the Superbike class without missing a beat. He is already very capable of mixing it up with the race leaders, and expect him to win more than one race before this season ends.

Still on the steep end of his learning curve, Vermeulen (barring injury) should be quite a rider before he is through.
