Jeff Ward (Honda) clinched the AMA Supermoto championship today by winning the final round of the series, the AMA Red Bull Supermoto A-Go-Go at Ballys Hotel in Las Vegas. Ward chased pole sitter Jurgen Kunzel (KTM) for most of the race before making a pass in the dirt section with only a few laps left.
Third place went to David Baffeleuf (KTM). Ben Bostrom (Honda) who won the Las Vegas event as well as the championship last year finished a disappointing 13th.
KTM’s race team boss Kurt Nicoll won the Supermoto Unlimited race, as well as taking the championship in that class. Boris Chambon (KTM) came home second behind Nicoll, with third place again going to David Baffeleuf.
