After a relatively disastrous start to the WSB series for defending champ Troy Bayliss (Ducati) at Qatar last weekend (finishing 5/8 in the two races, and leaving with only 19 points — 16 down on the leaders), Bayliss races this weekend at Round 2 in Australia. Bayliss owns every lap record imaginable at Phillip Island, and would like nothing better than to go 1/1 to show he (and Ducati) will be a factor in this year’s championship. Bayliss is on top after regular qualifying, with Superpole yet to come. Stay tuned to MD for race results tomorrow.
