More world championships. It is early days in the testing of Ducati’s new 1198cc superbike, the 1098R, but Troy Bayliss has already put it at the top of the time sheets at the recently completed Qatar WSB test.
The last time WSB rules gave twins a significant displacement advantage, v-twins dominated the series. Is this deja vu? Of course, Troy Bayliss is a huge part of any WSB effort by Ducati, but the new bike may just prove too much for the competition in his hands.
