This Jorge Lorenzo kid is tough! When you walk to the podium on crutches (as he did a few weeks ago) due to serious ankle injuries, then damage your hand to the point where you need skin grafts, and suffer what appeared to be a very serious concussion less than two weeks ago, you shouldn’t be ready to race this weekend at the British MotoGP event. Yamaha says Lorenzo will be on the starting grid for the race.
Lorenzo has been a breath of fresh air for MotoGP. He is clearly afraid of no one, and will have nothing to do with a “learning curve” his rookie year. Lorenzo wanted to win races from the start, and it is this attitude that endears him to his fans. The toughness he has displayed following a series of crashes and injuries only strengthens his fan appeal.
